Agroforestry systems to protect watershed
Together with Plant With Purpose, we're working with smallholder farmers in the Dominican Republic to grow trees alongside their cacao and coffee crops. These trees help protect the soil, keep water clean, and provide shade for the plants below. By growing different kinds of trees and crops together, farmers can better handle pests and extreme weather, while also boosting their harvests, nutrition, and income.
